Windyriver Ranch

We are a small ranch/training operation located at the foot of the beautiful Black Hills. We run a small hobby farm raising meat and dairy goats, a few cows, and standard working Australian Shepherd dogs. We started our official horse and dog training operation in February of 2014 but have been training both for over 15 years. (read more) On our ranch every animal (and person) must have a job. Our horses get worked and used every day as do the dogs. The goats and cattle provide milk and meat for our family, both two and four legged. We have a large 50ft wood round pen that was rebuilt in the summer of 2013 for the safety of the horses an our trainer. We do not believe in rushing animals through training, that is not how they learn. We have 30, 60, and 90 day training blocks set aside for animals that enter our program. Depending on the animal depends on how fast or slow they move through training. Our programs are tailored for each and every animal that comes in. we do not believe in a one size fits all method so, please come down and take a look at our facility an our animals.
