Shade Tree Ranch has been training future equestrians in South Carolina for over 10 years. We take great pride in watching our students grow from new riders to intermediate and even advanced levels. Our ultimate goal is to train students who can go out and make an impactful difference for the horse community of South Carolina. Shade Tree is a Western focused farm located in Gaston, SC. We teach everything western from western pleasure, horsemanship, western riding, to barrel racing.... (read more) At Shade Tree, we offer riding lessons for children and adults. There are currently 3 riding instructors at the facility. Lessons are $40 per lesson and run an hour and half, which includes 15 minutes at the beginning and end of the lesson to tack and untack the horses and an hour of instructional riding time. At Shade Tree we believe that the extra 30 minutes of instructional time outside of riding is important for learning good habits around horses as well as developing a young rider's horse sense.
There is currently an opening for a new boarder at Shade Tree! The current cost for monthly board is $275 which includes grain and hay twice a day; we give coastal hay and feed both round and square bales depending on owner preference. Our grain is Banks Mill brand feed, we have prime (senior) and sleek. Any supplements or medication will be required to be provided by the owner. In the winter horses will be blanked on the nights when it drops below freezing. In the spring and summer horse's fly masks will be put on in the morning and taken off in the evening to prevent eye irritation from flies and gnats. All other needs for the horse can be addressed on a case by case basis. Please Contact Mrs. Tasha or Savannah if you are interested in lesson or boarding.

Shade Tree's primary function is to coach new and intermediate riders. However, on a case by case basis, we do offer training services. There isn't a set price or rate for training. We will discuss the price after evaluating the horse's current level of training and discussing the concerns the the owner may have. We often require the owner/handler that will be working with the horse to participate in parts of the training so that they have the necessary skills to address any future problems they may have with the horse. Trainers: Tasha Williams, Savannah Williams, Ally Sanford
Shade Tree Ranch has on site trails that extend to the back of the ranch. At the end of most lessons we go on a short trail ride to both finish cooling down the horses and to give them a mental break from being in the arena.
