Saint George Riding Academy

Tresa Goodrich-Downey currently offers equestrian services to Southern Utah and surrounding areas from her base in Saint George. She opened the Saint George Riding Academy summer of 2016. When not training horses and teaching lessons, she works as a Health Coach. She graduated from Utah State University last year earning her degree in Health Communications with a minor of speech communication teaching. While attending USU she competed on both the English and Western Equestrian teams, and played on the USU women's rugby team.... (read more) Prior to competing for USU, she rode on the equestrian team at Rocky Mountain College in Billings Montana. In the last 6 years she has held apprenticeships and assistant trainer positions throughout Montana, Utah, Wisconsin, and most recently in France. Tresa has competed in a wide variety of Western and English disciplined events, but prefers Reined Working Cow on the western side, and 3-Day Eventing on the the English side. She loves the results she gets with her horses by using interdisciplinary training, and refuses to accept the common belief that in order to be great you must commit solely to one discipline. Tresa is committed to the welfare of her horses, and progresses them through well-rounded interdisciplinary training to consistently move them toward competitions in the discipline they are most suited for. She recognizes with appreciation all the wonderful mentors and horses that have helped her get to this point.
