At Poetry in Motion Horsemanship I offer a variety of training services including colt starting and basic tune-ups. I am located in Kellyville, which is about 20 minutes southwest of Tulsa just off of Highway 66. I specialize in Western dressage, ground work, halter breaking, young horse gentling and handling, ranch riding and trail obstacles. Some of my other training services include: solving problems with loading and unloading, bridling, saddling and picking up feet.... (read more) I charge $600 for 30 days of training and I provide the hay. Owner provides feed of their choice.
When training a horse, my goal is to create a soft, willing, respectful partner who is enjoyable to ride and handle. Turning out a nice horse is important to me and I will work to get your horse more with you and less distracted. I want the training process to be a positive experience for the horse because how a horse is started defines him for the rest of his life. When young horses are trained in a fair, consistent manner they maintain their physical soundness and mental confidence. I do not use tie downs, martingales, draw reins, etc.
You can find me on Facebook at Poetry in Motion Horsemanship or at www.poetryinmotionequine.com. I have several references and you can find riding and groundwork videos on my page.
I offer monthly training and ride 5 to 6 days a week. I spend an average of one hour on each training ride. My other training services include: groundwork, tune ups, solving problems with loading and unloading, bridling, saddling, picking up feet and overall assessment of your horse. My goal is to create a calm, willing partner who is enjoyable to ride and handle. turning out a nice horse is important to me and is what I strive to do.
