Smaller farm in Rochester, Pennsylvania. We service a vast variety of individuals with various disabilities. The equine related activities were provide are individualized and offer our participants an opportunity to develop skills needed to enhance all aspects of their daily lives. Our program also actively uses experienced, caring, and professional volunteers. We are always looking to grow our team.
Our program is all around unique from the staff to the horses. Hidden Hill Horse Farm primarily services individuals with physical, mental/emotional, cognitive, and/or behavioral disabilities. Our facility offers the knowledge and guidance of Path Intl. Certified Instructors. We primarily work with our participants on a one on one basis. The sessions we do are specifically tailor to each individual we service. Our program was designed to have various exercises that are fun yet challenging. These sessions also promote growth in various areas of daily living, including coping skills for unsettling situations that may arise during a normal day for our participants. Lessons here are very different from any other typical barn. Our goal for any rider is to allow them to reach their full potential and make them 100% self-sufficient. ($40 per session per person) Also contact us if you have an interest in visiting the facility for a free on site tour.
Walk/Trot/Canter sessions are also available here at the farm for anyone and everyone. We usually start children at age 5, however we can make special accommodations in certain situations. ($40 per session per person)
The instructors/trainers make this program what it is. We have a passion for horses and helping people. Therefore, we created a sanctuary were everyone can come to grow into the best versions of themselves. All the instructors are certified through Path Intl. They are extremely knowledgeable, patient, and kind. Our staff is built of individuals that have professional experiences in Public/Private schools as Educators, the medical field as Nurses, and Caregivers in assisted living facilities. We have created a comfortable family feel to our facility through the use of experienced and caring volunteers. We are always looking to grow our team. We mentor potential instructors to help them obtain certification, and are constantly looking for volunteers to add to our family.
Our horses are mostly verbally trained. They also work off of leg and hand commands as well. A lot of our horses haven’t come from good places, and they bond extremely well with all the individuals that they partner with. We gave these horses a second chance at a good life and they help us to do the same for anyone in need.
If you think would like to meet us, we would be astatic to speak with you!!
