Bijou Equestrian was launched in 2013 by USHJA Certified Trainer, and lifelong equestrian, Shelbi Heady. We specialize in locating and developing, quality, hunter/jumper horses and offering them for sale in the US market. Our focus is to bring the highest quality horses to the Hunter Jumper and Equitation disciplines, with honest and transparent business practices.
With our partnerships, we have to access over 40 breeders and trainers abroad and stateside, with global marketing reach to give the buyer many different options.

Shelbi began riding at 6 years old, where she learned the importance of proper horse care. She rode younger, inexperienced horses, and prepared them to compete at the national level. Riding a variety of horses grew her talent for recognizing and developing national competitors. Shelbi went on to ride and compete under the guidance of top professionals. After the completion of her Junior years, she went to join JT Farm in South Salem NY under professional Jimmy Toon as their barn manager. Shelbi has qualified for and ribboned at every National Horse Show since the start of her junior career in the hunters, equitation, and the jumpers. Shelbi’s 20 years of experience in the saddle, and more than 10 years’ experience training on the ground has allowed her to extend her natural ability and passion into a lucrative business. Whether you would like to invest in a prospect for future sale or market and sell your current horse, are looking for consignment board, need freelance training/troubleshooting for your horses, require training board for you and your horse or trailering and/or braiding for shows, Shelbi and Bijou Equestrian LLC will meet your needs with the utmost professionalism to help you achieve your goals.
