Many breeds of horses are solid in color, so sometimes when a horse has white markings on their legs, face or other parts of the body, people will say that the horse has chrome. The reference comes from cars which have shiny chrome bumpers. Types of white markings can vary, but horses can have white blazes or stripes on their nose and face or white socks and stockings on their legs and feet.
