Offered for sale is Siraj de Bonchere (Siraj), a FHANA registered 7-year-old Friesian gelding. Raj stands 16 hands, and is very much a sport-type Friesian. Raj is sired by Rintse 386. He was orphaned as a foal, and has had one owner after purchase from the breeder. This history shows in his puppy-like, dying-to-please, people-oriented personality. Raj knows my vehicle and waits at the gate to be ridden. I have a picture of my 7-year-old son staying warm on Raj bareback in his stall during winter. Raj is family-owned and loved, and besides his impressive show history, has been trail ridden extensively, shown in costume to music, and is part of a local trail-riding women's group. He will go over or through anything, including water, tarps, bridges, ditches, baseball fields full of active games and crowds, traffic, umbrellas, barking dogs, rides great with other horses, not herd or barn-bound. He loads like a pro, the farrier and vet love him, has been body clipped enough times to do it himself, bathes, etc. He is up-to-date on shots, on SmartPak supplements, and has all veterinary records available. He has never had soundness issues, no history of injuries, no history of colic.
Raj is the first USDF horse of an adult amateur owner, and he has performed very well despite my lack of knowledge and experience. I have all of his USDF tests on file for review. Raj has both his USDF Horse Performance awards in Training and First Level. His first year of USDF showing as a 5-year-old, he qualified and competed in Regional Championships at training level, ranked #1 in the nation for all-breeds qualifying FHANA horses in the adult amateur division and #2 in the open division. His training level scores range from 60% to 71%, with the majority in the 66-68% scores. He also competed in first level as a 5-year-old with scores in the 60s.
As a 6-year-old, Raj qualified for Regional Championships at first level, but his rider was unable to show. He showed the summer of 2011 at first level with scores in the low 60s. The highlight of 2011 was a fun freestyle performed in costume at Waterloo hunt club that was interrupted by gale force winds!
As a 7-year-old, Raj continued to compete at first level with scores from 65-73.7%, with multiple scores of 67%, 68%, a 69% and a 71%. Raj was Grand Champion of the Waterloo 2012 series, scoring over 100 points for multiple 1st place rankings. The highlight of 2012 was competing at Kentucky Horse Park in Regional Championships. Raj scored 67.6% & 68% in the Training level Championship, and 64% & 65% in the First level Championship. He also came home with a Second place ribbon from Kentucky Horse Park.
Raj has performed at Hampton Green Farms in their fundraising events. Raj takes lessons with Lyn Kendall (Silver medalist), and has participated in clinics with Charlotte Bayley-Schindelholz, Pati Pierucci, Carolyn Hoekstra, and Noel Williams. Check out centerlinescores.com for credentials of these trainers. Raj is currently schooling second level, and would show 2nd level in 2013. He is executing lengthenings, medium paces, beginning collection, leg yields, shoulder-in, counter canter, canter serpentine, simple changes, and walk-canter transitions.
Siraj is a horse that is safe for a young or adult amateur rider, and talented enough to move up through the levels with any rider. Raj has been my true dreamhorse, and is being sold because I am returning to school to complete my nurse practitioner and doctoral degree. Video available at Watch Siraj Feb 2013d.
