Dandy is a very tall Foxtrotter - 16h. His gait is more of a rack or amble, but very smooth and extremely consistent. He is a pale palomino but is very striking. He is a very nice horse - stands still to mount, is very trusting, does what is asked without question. I purchased him for my husband - but my husband refuses to give up the hard-headed horse he has now. I guess that's a good trait.
As you will see in the video, Dandy is very willing. Generally not spooky at all, although he has been frightened by mountain bikes. I am sure that could be addressed, but we haven't got the time or inclination to do that. He rides very well in groups and has been horse-camping. The video shows his first time dragging a pole...that will give you a good idea of how he looks at things and is willing to give anything a try. Once you build a trusting relationship with this guy he will do anything for you. Great field trial prospect, and large enough for a big guy. Docile enough for a novice rider, but he does have that fast-moving gait. Great fun horse who would make someone a great buddy. I would keep him but I don't have room for more than two.
Dandy will walk slowly with non-gaited horses, but his natural walk is fast and his rack is a lovely ground-covering gait, smooth as silk. Be sure to watch the video - Dandy canters, opens a gate, and takes a jump for the first time.
Good home only. This boy deserves it.
