The Horses in Heaven Foundation assists both adults and children to work through various points of their life using horses. It has been proven that the "equine spirit" of the horse can be very healing and horses are now being used as a therapeutic tool across the country.
The name of our program "Horses in Heaven" was inspired by a song that was written by entertainer by Terry Fator (entertainer in Las Vegas). Fator wrote "Horses in Heaven" a few years ago, and it's based on a true story about a little 7-year-old boy who loved horses, and was battling life threatening cancer. The message in his song "Horses in Heaven" means so much to Terry, and every night he sings it in Las Vegas, it touches a chord with people in the audience. Just as this little boy had a dream to ride horses during his time of crisis, our goal is to fulfill that same dream in the lives of others!.
We are a non-profit organization and with the help of businesses, organizations and individuals, it is our hope to be able to offer these services at no charge to those people in crisis and or need.
Company / Farm: Horses in Heaven Foundation (Canada) - The Horses in Heaven Foundation has designed an experience with horses combined with various life skills that can be applied to the lives of the participants. Our program has two objectives. The first is an "Active Intervention and Support" to help both children and adults to work through crisis/problem periods in their lives. In addition, we offer a "Alternatative Educational Support" by having them attend and learn in an agricultural setting as we integrate life skills through teaching outside the pressures of our complicated society. We will accomplish this by partnering with farriers, veterinarians, horticulturalists, butchers, horse trainers, cattle ranchers and many others to open opportunities for possible growth and evolvement.
The Horses in Heaven Foundation has a vision of Re-Awakening Dreams, Hope and Healing in the lives of others by giving them hope and a future.
