All Around, All Purpose, Roping, Trail, Training, Pleasure, Other
Our mission is to train good solid ranch, trail and roping horses that once returned to their owner can be ridden with ease. We have years of experience in starting young horses that are then used to trail ride on, work cattle, and multiple other jobs. We believe in focusing first with the fundamentals by starting each horse off slow, teaching them the basics in order to start them off right. We spend the first several sessions in the round pen, going through all the groundwork with your horse and introducing them slowly to the saddle.... (read more) We have over 60 acres on our farm so once we begin riding your horse will be ridden on trails that lead through woods, across creeks and open pastures.Your horse will also be exposed to cattle, used to pen calves, and work cows some. We have a small obstacle course on our farm that your horse will also be exposed to. Our goal with all this is to desensitize them to all the elements you may encounter on a trail or another farm/ranch and have them ready to be finished for the job you desire.
Typically we would need at least 30 days with your horse, but it could be longer, depending on the ability of your horse, how well the horse takes the training, and also the expectations you have for your horse. Colts that are just halter broke will need at least a couple months or more.
We will ride or work with your horse 6 days a week. . .this is all we do. . . training horses, boarding and sales. There are two of us so your horse will be ridden or worked by both. This will help your horse even more being ridden by multiple people.
We take in a very limited number of horses per month in order to spend the necessary amount of time with each of them.
During the training your horse will need to stay with us on our farm. Your horse will be fed twice a day (we will provide feed), have a stall and be turned out to a large grass pasture when not in the barn.
Owners are welcome to come see their horse anytime and be apart of the training process. At some point during the training period, once the horse is riding, we like to start showing the owner how we are handling, riding and training the horse.
Please give us a call today so we can discuss how we can help with your horse. We can be reached at 813-363-1557. Please leave a message if no one answers, we will call you back.
