Abra is a very easy-to-get-along-with gelding. He is suitable for a companion or light riding / driving. He is an off the track harness racer, but has not raced since 2003. He was my trail horse for a couple of years, and has not been ridden in about a year and a half. He was taken off the track due to a suspensory ligament injury on his back right. His fetlock drops down further than would be considered "normal" on that side. He has not shown any signs that it bothers him, and he was properly cared for after the injury by being put on stall rest for a year, and then slowly being returned to light riding. Recently, he was diagnosed with arthritis on his back left, and in the past month it has affected him a total of three days noticably. We do not think it is extremely severe, but he will do well with a supplement. If he is to be ridden, he must have a lightweight rider only. If he is driven or ridden, it would be in his best interest not to be ridden daily or heavily. He just had his teeth floated, his hooves trimmed, and his sheath cleaned. He is up to date on wormings, and is on an every 60-day schedule. He was vaccinated yearly, with the last vaccinations for West Nile and 7-Way in June 2007. Abra is expressive, and will make anyone a good companion. An adoption application and reference check is required, and you can get that from our website and either email or snail mail it to us.
