Here is a well-started, sensible, and fun young prospect just waiting to be developed. Derby has been under saddle for three months and is well-established in his basic work in the ring and is starting to hack out. He has three well-balanced, adjustable gaits and a great attitude. Donnerwerth (Donnerschlag-Werther) is the sire of this attractive youngster. Donnerwerth was the 2001 Prix St. Georges Horse of Year for the California Dressage Society. Great-grandsire Donnerhall has become a legend for both his consistent record as an International Grand Prix competitor and for his exceptional ability as a sire of dressage horses. Derby’s dam is by Pointmaker (Pik Bube I-Weltmeister) who scored 122 points in the dressage-phase of his 100-day test and has competed through Prix St. Georges as well. The Pik Bube lines were some of the most successful crosses with Donnerhall blood and we see the success of this proven combination present in Derby.
