Pumpkin is a paint/quarter pony cross mare. She could be finished for the hunter ring, used as a brood mare, or used for lead line/beginner walking lessons. She was bought from the auction and put in our lesson/camp program, where she has been for the past 4 years. She takes great care of her beginner riders and does not take off with anyone. I am selling her because she tends to be a different horse every day and I can not rely on her while working with the lesson/camp kids.... (read more) One day she will be a good girl who does what you ask her (on the ground or under saddle), the next day she will ignore you and try to drag you by the lead rope to where she wants to go. She has a beautiful jumping form and has been schooled over 2'9" jumps. She is a particular horse when it comes to riding, however. If your form or aids are not perfect, she will tell you by throwing up her hind legs. It's not quite bucking, but it can certainly unseat an unbalanced rider. She can/will be opinionated. She requires a lot of leg under saddle, which is another reason why my lesson kids find it extremely hard to get her to trot or canter. She is barefoot, UTD on dentistry, worming, and vaccines happening soon. She lives out 24/7 and gets along with other horses/ponies pretty well. She is about middle to top of the herd. She has gone both english and western.
