Buddy is a 11-12h Sorrel gelding approx. 6 years old. There is no bite, buck or kick. I do think he might need some miles put on him (gut feeling, he has NEVER done anything to earn this) He was purchased with Rusty from Moor, OK to resell for kids.
The previous owner was starting him on barrels and poles. They had a 5year old riding him. The pony moves out as a quick pace, but after a bit gets lazy. I guess we bore him because he yawned the whole time my daughter rode him today!... (read more) He does try to put his tongue under over the bit, so I had to tighten the headstall on him and he quit.
He had one of the better demeanors of all the ponies, his ears are up at all time and he is looking for me to come outside. If I do he is there in an instant. Gets along with all the herd.
He loves to be kissed and loved on, I do notice that maybe he hasn't been touched enough over the whole body, he flinches just slightly when we brush him and handle his back end. NEVER has tried to kick and lifts feet well, just isn't completely sold on trusting you yet. In a couple days I can have him done with this if the weather would hold.
Riding him was a joy for my little one, she was making plans to sell her trail pony and keep him! (Not going to happen, lol) This pony is bigger and would be a good step up pony or skip a little one and keep this one going. He is a very curious sort which makes me love him even more. Wants to know what you are up too at all times. Good feet, good teeth, easy to bridle, saddle, load and tie.
We haven't tried to ride him bareback yet.
Call with more questions. No holds, cash.
There is a craigs list ad on him with many more pictures, Tulsa listing, farm and garden section, pull him up by his name "Buddy" or by pony or search Coweta listings. I have several other ponies available at this time. 918-640-2516
