Nutmeg is a 10 year old mare who loves to please and loves attention. She's looking to bond with someone who wants to show and have a horse to fuss over! Her bloodlines include: Mr. Conclusion, Conclusive, and Bostan Mac. She was shown in halter as a baby and then used as a brood mare for 4 years (had 3 foals). The last two years she has been used only minimally as a trail horse due to the fact that I was out of the state with my job. I have been working on finishing her off for western pleasure and western riding. She will be a great 4-H or show horse. She learns very quickly and is a beautiful mover. Nutmeg is a very receptive horse. She will work best with a rider who is confident and is quiet. She does not do well with someone who is heavy handed or who overcorrects a horse. On trail rides she will mirror the rider. If the rider is calm and relaxed, she is calm and relaxed. If the rider is anxious, then Nutmeg will think there is something she needs to be anxious about. I'm selling her because I am not showing western pleasure anymore, and she is too good of a horse to continue to let her stand in a pasture. I've been riding her more consistantly this last month and she has come along quickly. I hauled her alone to a show and she was great! Stood quiet at the trailer, and was calm when I rode her around. It was during a fair, so there was a lot of activity and noise. She's ready for walk/trot and will be ready for more with some fine tuning. She is up to date on all her shots. This is a current picture. She is only on grass at this time, no grain or supplements. Nutmeg can not be used as a brood mare anymore due to tearing her uterus during the delivery of her last foal 2 years ago.
