Hollywood is wonderful in the arena and does everything you ask of him. He loads, clips and is easy to trim or shoe. When I bought him, I misunderstood how much experience he'd had trail riding in the forest... but now realize he's had very little. He has done some trail riding but mainly in the open, and did really well there, but is nervous about riding where I live (which truly is in the deep, dark forest). I don't have the facilities nor the knowledge to train him to ride in the mountains, plus I'm 60 years old and am a little wimpier. I'm hoping he'll go to someone who has a lot of horse knowledge and the right facilities. He really is one of the sweetest horses I've been around and it's obvious he's had nothing but good experiences with humans. When I call his name or whistle, he always comes running and never evades the halter. I've only put him in and out of a trailer 3 times, and even though he hesitates at first...he goes in with very little coaxing. He has done Western Pleasure and some Dressage with his previous owner. I have decided I need an older, bombproof horse...that's been there and done that.
I do think Hollywood has enormous potential and he's so beautiful with his darker Palomino coloring and dun stripe down his back. He has that powerful Quarter Horse rear end (that I love so much!),and is not too wide through the chest like my old horse is, so he's extremely athletic. His legs are straight and overall, he has excellent confirmation. Everyone that sees him comments on how beautiful and well put together he is.
When my vet came up to check my old horse, he also gave Hollywood a physical and found him to be sound and healthy. I am willing to trade if you have a sound, bomb proof horse that needs no training.
