Additional Comments:
As April's training advances, she is proving to be more than expected. She is an extremely fast and willing learner. Rhythm, consistency, two track, shoulder-in or outs, sliding stops from the canter, low headset, side pass, turns on fore & hind, and horsemanship patterns -- she's learned the basics and is constantly refining her moves. Though appearing small in stature at 14.3h and 1,000 lbs., April's impulsion can carry far more than a child or a large adult. She can carry the eye of the public and the judge. This girl has Impulsion, Impulsion, Impulsion! As a hunter under saddle she is supreme. Extremely willing over fences. An excellent youth horse. Very quiet at shows, good schooling scores in beginning hunter. Cues from seat, leg, or rein. Mistaken for every breed she is not ... from Morgan to AQHA, April is a domestic bred mustang from the cross of two strong HMA's - Granite Range NV221 x Goshute. She is double registered with AMBA & ABRA. In the show ring at 6 weeks old, her first season was impressive -- Kansas Buckskin Horse Association 2002 High Point Weanling Mare, 1st Place Weanling Mare 2002 American Buckskin Registry Association Pre-World Show, Top Ten in the 2002 World Show. With 90+ days training under saddle, in addition to her years spent as a mustang ambassador for school children across the Kansas City metropolitan area, April is solid and steady, very willing, eager to please, a mediator among horses. She practices being the Will Rogers of horses -- she's never met a horse she didn't like or get along with. When with other horses she has never exhibited marish behavior during her cycles. April gets along with dogs, cats, and other animals. April is comfortable around wheelchairs, crutches, handicapped persons, and has exhibited an affinity for autistic children. Her temperament is matched only by her conformation and movement. This young mare is an excellent prospect for showmanship, reining, western pleasure, hunter under saddle, cutting, roping, or speed events. She has been successfully introduced to the fundamentals of both Western and English riding disciplines -- from jumps up to 3'6", to the lateral movements of cow and barrel work, to the focus of introductory dressage elements. This mare's 14.3h, 1000 lb build is perfect for the small adult or youth. Her strong dense bone structure allows her to comfortably carry and perform under much larger adults. Coggins, shots, worming, and farrier all UTD, I can print out her complete medical history since birth. SOLD to Laura and Daniel Sweeten of Harrisonville, MO!
