Additional Comments:
Copper is a gorgeous Sorrel QH Gelding. He stands at 15.2 hh, is in the AQHA and is definately a head turner.
I have owned him for about 6 years and he has improved tons since I got him. He was originally trained as a barrel racing horse but has not been ridden in that field for many years. He has tons of power and loves to go. He jumps, reverses, loads, ties, bathes, crosses water and rarely spooks. He is perfect for the farrier and the vet and takes wormer like its water. He is not head shy in the least bit and stands very well.
Copper is a great horse and would make a great beginner or lesson horse if he had a few weeks of conditioning. Unfortunately I fractured my pelvis on 6/9/08 and havent been able to ride him since. But all he will need is a light refresher course and he'll be good to go.
Our trainer tells us that it would take barely any work to get him back into barrels. He would also be suitable for a pole, reining, cattle or ranch horse. He loves trails and loves to explore. And I feel that I bore him with my hunter/jumper riding techniques.
I know that he would be a great lesson horse prospect if he had a few weeks of training. He needs love and affection and an owner that he can connect with. Unfortunately we do not connect on the level a horse and rider should. This is the only reason I am looking towards selling him. He needs some finishing work but would be a great show prospect as he does well in both English and Western riding. He jumps 2+ ft jumps with ease and rarely refuses. He has tons of trail experience and has no problem crossing bridges or water.
Although he's 15 he definately isnt washed up. He's got tons of miles left and doesn't show his age at all.
He has great bloodlines and apparently his ancestors were racing horses. I could definately see him racing and winning with ease. I could also see him excelling in roping or reining.
To whoever decides to buy him he will come with a leather western saddle, western bridle, bit, saddle pad, grazing muzzle, and halter.
The only reason he has a grazing muzzle is because the grass at our farm is very rich and many horses have foundered from it.
Unfortunately he was injured a few years ago and damaged his left hind leg and hoof. He is 100% sound but has not been shod since the accident. The only reason he hasnt been shod is because we primarily ride him in a ring or field and shoes havent been necessary. Although he hasnt been shod he is 100% able to wear shoes. He is UTD on all shots and worming and is in excellent health.
I am looking to sell him for $2500 obo[willing to go lower] or trade him for a horse of equal value.
I am looking for a horse that is atleast 16hh and has been trained in English or Western Pleasure riding. Atleast 4 years old, no more than 11 years old and preferably a 7 or less on the temperment scale. I just want to find a horse that I can grow and bond with. I am looking for a pleasure and trail riding horse, with show prospect.
I cannot buy my dream horse until I sell Copper so serious inquiries only please. Delivery and or pick up can be arranged for additional cost.
If you are interested or would like a video or more pictures of Copper please feel free to e-mail or call me.
Thank you!!
