I am selling my beautiful TB mare. She is 15 years old, registered but never raced, and an absolute sweet heart. Unfortunately, I have to sell her as I am starting school and I am not going to have enough time to devote to her. My loss is your gain. I bought her several months ago and she was underweight and hadn't been ridden consistently in months. But since then, I have gotten her back to a healthy weight and have been working her consistently.... (read more) She is a very willing mare and laid back. She stands well for the farrier and is UTD on all her shots and worming. She did have a sarcoid near her left eye when I bought her but the vet suspected it resulted from poor nutrition. It doesn't require any extra care. Since I've gotten her back on a healthy diet, most of it has cleared up and it still continues to do so and suspect it will be gone in the next few months. I have taken her out on the trail, alone and in a group, and she was very well behaved. I have posted a picture but I will send more on request. She has never bucked, although she has thought about it, or reared, but she will look at something if she has never seen it before. However, as soon as you let her look at it she will go on like nothing happened. She lunges well and has good ground manners.
I have been working her on the flat; walk, trot, and canter. So far we have just been working with a trainer on dressage and it's clear she has training under her belt, it's just a matter of giving her a refresher. I was hoping to get her started jumping at some point but haven't yet. When I purchased her, I was told that she had some dressage training and could jump. I have taken her over cross rails and it is clear she knew what to do. With some more work, she will be a nice dressage horse and potentially a nice hunter/jumper. If you are looking for a really competitive horse, she is not for you. But if you are looking for a project and a training level dressage horse and/or a lower level hunter/jumper then she might be your girl. I would recommend a trainer or an intermediate-advanced rider who will be working with a trainer. I will also be selling her with her winter blanket for no extra cost since I won't have any use for it. I am sad to have to sell her but I just don't have as much time as she deserves. I am really hoping that someone could give her a forever home. I am motivated to sell, but will wait for the perfect home, asking $1500 OBO.
