Additional Comments:
Nico is a 15.2HH Quarter Friesian Gelding foaled in 2003 and is well balanced in all 3 gaits. He can do turn on forehand and is starting some lateral work with leg yielding. He carries himself nicely in a frame and is excellent in the show ring and on trails. He has been shown in several disciplines including: Hunters on the flat and jumping, Dressage, English Equitation, English Showmanship and has been to more than 25 shows, including the Dakota and Washington County Fair and several clinics including Cross Country, Barrel-Racing and Desensitization. We have taken him across the country and he walks out of the trailer the same mellow horse that he went in. We have also taken him swimming - and he loves it! He is absolutely trustworthy on the ground... and I've used him to ride my younger daughter double around the trails as well. He's also been used for driving and vaulting in the past as well.

He hauls, clips, stands for the farrier and vet very well. He is very easy going but on the lazy side so he does require some leg. He is very tolerant, sweet, affectionate and in your pocket. He is on the dominant side of the herd and an easy keeper. He has strong bones and fantastic feet and has NEVER required shoes. He is a very low maintenance horse and a lot of fun to ride. Nico doesn't need to be in a program, will always work, 100% sound and a sturdy horse. He packed my novice rider daughter around sweetly at several of the Red Pines schooling horse shows this spring, and even helped her win a Reserve Champion Novice division rider award. His gaits are extremely rhythmic and he just packs around the course!

The reason he is up for sale is because my daughter has decided she really wants to focus more on polocrosse and gaming. While Nico is 100% tolerant of the balls, barrels and rackets - he simply does not want to go fast. The bottom line is that he can do a little bit of everything - as long as it doesn't require a lot of speed. We see him as being the best fit as a confidence builder for an advanced beginner/intermediate rider who wants to a Pony Club or 4H horse, lower level eventer, dressage horse, hunt horse, lesson horse, trail or all around fun horse. Located in Hugo, MN.
