Dream Weaver is an unregistered 6 y/o American Paint Quarter Horse gelding standing just over 15.1h. He would be eligible for registration with the APHA.
"Dreamer" is a true Indian Paint with a white "Bandit" mask on his face. He is beautiful, flashy, fast, intelligent, and fearless. He has an excellent temperament and a willingness to learn.
When Dreamer was about 4, and before we was trained he would stand at the fence and watch as we saddled up some of our other horses for a trail ride.... (read more) Then he would watch us walk off. When we returned, he was still standing at the fence waiting for us. I suppose we were slow on the uptake as it was only after several months that we realized that Dreamer wanted to go too! We believe he was simply a young horse that felt left out, and was willing to do anything to get to go with the "big horses".
A friend offered to train and ride him for us. He was trained using natural Horsemanship methods (Clinton Anderson, Monte Roberts, etc.) with lounging and join-up. He ultimately accepted a saddle without objection.
Dreamer, though the youngest and one of the smallest horses we own has emerged as the lead horse in our little herd of 6.
Dreamer has been ridden out on the trail several times, however, he is not what I would call experienced. He is not particularly "spooky", he is simply a young horse who has not been fully trail-tested. He does seem to enjoy new experiences. With his higher than average intelligence, he likely appreciates new experiences as a means of counter-acting boredom.
Due to his "Go Time" attitude, intelligence, and competitive spirit, and with a little time and training, he would be an excellent barrel prospect for an experienced teenaged girl or boy in the competitive show ring.
He has flashy winning looks and a mischievous spirit. (Watch out, he will walk up, steal your brush, bridle, or halter, walk off a little bit, and then look back at you as if to say, "C'mon, let's play!".)
Character is a word reserved just for him as he IS a character!
We love him very much, but due to a knee surgery, and a lack of appropriate riders, we will not be able to finish his training properly. This horse needs and deserves a partner to ride off into the sunset with him.
Loads and unloads in a trailer, stands for farrier, shots, and vet checks. Loves to be brushed. Loves any kind of attention.
Dreamer was rescued as a 8 month old colt. Since that time, he has never been neglected, abused, or mistreated in any way.
