Navi has a very kind disposition, loves attention, has excellent ground manners and has been handled with Natural Horsemanship Methods - knows her round pen work and boy howdy does this mare have a WHOA when you say it (body or words). She will stand tied contently for hours on end, loads in just about anything you ask her to, is easy to catch, good with vet and farrier, stands stock still for fly spray, baths etc. She is NOT flighty, spooky or reactive. She is a confident but not aggressive middle top in the herd and usually buddies up to another horse but agreeably will leave with you.
I purchased her out of a bad situation and just couldn't pass her up! I am in love with her personality and just wanted to MAKE SURE she got into the right situation (but I am not in a position to be that right match).
I was told she was trail ridden all over - and to know her disposition I would say she is more than likely trail and traffic safe (but I haven't been able to take her out myself yet....) she is great with tractors, dogs, cattle, goats etc - will lead off a 4wheeler anywhere you want her to go...down the road and is traffic safe that way.
In May I took her to my trainer for a "tune-up" and after a day or two of remembering she went straight into work routine and was willing to please. She is GAITED out the ying-yang - and I mean a natural 4beat gait! Actually gaits best in a snaffle with light contact. If you put a port bit on her and mess around with her in that she will end up pacing...so back to the simple snaffle we went and wallah...GAIT! She also canters - under saddle its a little quick but comfortable, in the round-pen its nearly a slow rythmical 3 beat pleasure lope! So with some work I am sure you could get that under saddle too!
Only real issue I can point out is that her belly gets big when on full turnout. When in consistant work that belly will tone up (looked super nice when I brought her back from my trainer) but when left in just the field it gets quite large. SO - for her belly sake and that of continued training/riding a home/person that will ride her routinely like 2-3x a week would be best.
Navi wants to bond with her person and share a relationship! She is quiet and easy to handle but has had some time off from riding (with me, sorry) and needs a refresher course. SO - her best person is a confident intermediate-adv level rider.
