Ruby is your affordable show horse!
Ruby is a registered 14 year old sorrel quarter horse mare who has literally been there, and done that. She has been showed in open shows and 4-H shows. She rides English and western. The last two years in 4-h she won western pleasure at the fair. She has also won western horsemanship and showmanship. She usually gets reserve in the halter class at the fair. She has only received purples since we have had her.... (read more) (She gets blues or reds in games because she would rather go slow ;) ) She has been to cowboy races and has done very well. She goes through anything in front of her. She crosses water, tarps, logs, bridges, teeter totters, you name it. She has worked cattle and has dragged logs, tires, and a human sized dummy. Nothing phases her. One thing the judges love about her is how quiet she is. Super calm and easy going. She is familiar with English and western dressage, ranch pleasure, western and English pleasure, reining, horsemanship, showmanship, and liberty work. She has a nice headset and collects the correct way, no gimmicks with this one! She isn't ever a moody mare. Super willing and just plain ole happy.
Loads, stands for farrier, bathes, saddling, mounting, and practically opens her mouth for the bit.
It is really heart breaking to see her go, but we have too many horses and she isn't getting the attention she deserves. She really is a sweet gal, you won't find another horse like this in your lifetime. She is being handled everyday, right now a 14 year old girl is getting her ready for the fair. She will be ready for her new home in August, because the fair is July 29th.
No vices, no injuries. One thing you need to know that she is such a good jumper that she over jumps and then her back hurts the rest of the week and she won't take the right lead. If you take her to a chiropractor then she snaps back into her usual self. (So basically, she is only ornery if you jump her. And ornery is an overstatement.)
Thanks for viewing. The picture is from a trail ride, I have many other photos of her at shows and other trails. I can make a video upon request.
