Il Salvattore, aka "Boo", is 14.2 hh barefoot (taped). I am only selling because I am getting married and need the money for my wedding. He is a very laid back horse, not forward at all, which I am not a fan of, because I like a forward moving horse. He is off the track, been off for about a year now. What I do is I take horses off the track that look like they have great promise in a new life, and I give them the down time they need, retrain them to an extent, and then sell them to their "forever" home. Boo is the easiest of all so far. He is so willing to learn and so easy to train! He has very comfortable gaits. Still very green, but willing to learn. He is great at riding both Western, English, and bareback. We have been working with him on ground manners and on easy riding including reining (neck, english reining, and bridge reining). We have been working around barrels as well- knocking them down, weaving in and out and listening to leg cues. He will be a great reiner, barrel horse or jumper. We have had him being mounted/dismounted from both sides. He is a grandson of Storm Cat, who has a lot of descendants that are very skilled in jumping, if that is what you are looking for. He definitely has the potential for that. He has a great "pleasing" attitude when you are riding him. He nickers to anyone he sees coming at him, and will whinny if he knows who you are. He is one of those horses who knows who he has to answer to! He has a great temperament when you are working with him. He is mostly a major lover!! If you want a horse that will last you a long time, this young guy will do the job :) He has been broke to pasture and is with 3 other horses now.
Also- if you would like to see his pedigree, look him up on equibase and click on the 5 generation free pedigree. I have heard that many descendants of Storm Cat are very easy to retrain, very smart, and loyal!
Call or text Hannah at 607-661-3212 if interested. Pricing will increase with his additional training. He is located in Dansville, NY.
