Born at the Chief Joseph Foundation, Tchee Hoo is a 9 yo , strikingly good looking tri-colored Leopard Appaloosa gelding, who has been well started modeling the 'Basic Handle' as taught by renowned horse clinician, Pat Wyse. As a participant in a Pat Wyse clinic, Pat Wyse himself described Tchee Hoo as being very "handy". He has been shown by our daughter as a green horse in 4H and local shows and they did well. Tchee Hoo is a quick learner who requires fair, firm, and knowledgeable leadership from his rider.... (read more) He is a brave and intelligent horse who forms strong attachments to his person. He is not for a beginner rider, but IS a dream ride for an expert rider or an advanced intermediate rider who is working closely with a trainer. At age 3 Tchee Hoo survived a fairly significant injury when he got hooked on a pin connecting panel fencing together; the scar DOES NOT inhibit his athleticism or cause him trouble at all, and barely shows when he is tacked up or in his winter coat. However, because of the injury, his training was interrupted while he healed. We purchased Tchee Hoo for our daughter with the intent to finish him and show him in breed shows and cow events. Our daughter has since decided to serve our nation in the military, and in truth, my husband and I are draft horse people. We would very much like to find a home for Tchee Hoo where he will be used consistently for the work he was bred to do. He is always a good boy, but is definitely at his best when he is working. He will be going back into training for a tune-up on July 18th with Tom Reed of 'Tom Reed Natural Horsemanship'. His progress can be followed on Tom's Facebook site. We have MANY more pictures, and will have a video soon.
