Beautiful Grulla markings; Dark face, has all barring, points and stripes. Nissa (Friendly Elf in Scandinavian) is a sweet girl who will make someone a great partner. I am selling her as she was bought early in my horse riding pursuit and I did not yet know which way I was headed in disciplines. I have since decided hunter/jumper is my preferred discipline and she is simply not suited for that. I have another horse (OTTB) now that I ride in the hunt ring.... (read more) Nissa is more suited for the trail and Western disciplines. She was green when I purchased her in 2012 and took her on a few trail rides with friends (western). She did fine and wanted to be up front, curious and happy to be out. In order to help her along, she recently trained for 60 days at West Valley Show Horses with Pegi Longen. (she returned home on 5/21) While there she was worked in a Western saddle and has been ridden in English tack here at home. She has a better foundation now and would like to see her keep up the good work. I do not have time to ride her since I am working extensively with my other mare. Nissa is a sweet girl, level headed, nicely calm but very brave, sound, UTD on all shots, worming, floated on 3/17, last trim was just a couple weeks ago. She does love to rub her neck in between my stall pipe so her mane sadly has a gap; her forelock is gorgeous as is her long, thick tail. She is a way easy keeper and can put on too much weight if not careful. Bermuda Hay is all she needs. She is barefoot and farrier says her feet are real good, she gets trimmed every 6-8 weeks. She does stand for farrier and tie, tack, a little impatient at the mounting block but just her wanting to go. She tolerates baths but she is young so she gets bored and wants it to be over. This will get better with time. She has trailered only a few times but will get on with a little help called treats. She is in her stall for several days during irrigation cycles and in pasture turn out the rest of the time. She is happy in either situation. I love this girl but know she will do better with someone able to take her where she is best suited and see her get out and ride. Asking $1800, Neg to good home/situation.
