I had taken a deposit on this girl 6 months ago, but then buyer disappeared. I figured I would keep her after that, but now Ive decided to list her again for the summer. In the fall, if not sold, I will be breeding her and she will no longer be available until after the foal is weaned.
She is about 12.2h and SUPER stocky. This mare has no problems taking up your leg! She is a timid girl, needs a gentle touch. Loves treats, they will win over her heart :) The friend I got her from said she is greenbroke to ride and ground drives, but hasnt been hitched to a cart. I got on her recently for the first time and she did fine. She lunges great, knows voice commands. Seemed a little worried about the saddle when I first brought it out (hasnt been ridden in a year and a half, and other than a time or two, its probably been several years before that since she was really ridden). She definitely needs a gentle, experienced owner. Loads easily and good for the farrier. Gets along well with other horses, but can be hard to catch when turned out with them.
Fells are a wonderful breed from England, but rare here in the US. I have the only two Fell ponies in Arizona. Fells were bred to be family horses, used by kids up to full grown adults. Their gentle nature, short height but stocky bodies were ideal for both driving and riding for the whole family. in England they are often used for jumping as well. They are a very neat breed!
I also have other horses for sale. You can see them on the CheyAut Ranch facebook page, look for the "Equines of CheyAut Ranch" album.
