Merida is a very sweet Red Roan pony. She is approx. 11h. and her breeding is not know, she has too long of a back to be a Shetland. She is between 7yrs and 9yrs old. She was broke and then lived with a couple with no kids who loved her spoiled! Ya for them.
We have tuned her up and she is great, a bit pushy, but not in a mean way just a spoiled way and she is smart enough a couple weeks in the hands of a kid who will ride her and she will get over some of this.... (read more)
She will ride off from the big horses or ride with them either way, she does not squeal, kick, bite or buck. Her feet are great, never been foundered. Gets along with big horses, babies and other ponies.
She loads, ties, rides bareback and double. She is a bit hard to catch because we rode her a lot, but before that she always came to you, she is coming back around since we aren't riding her as hard, you can tell she was broke very well and I like that she has some maturity on her. This would be a good horse for a starter or young rider, not spooky and has been around the block. Rides with the dogs no problem.
I have owned another horse with the same "Brand" on the hip, not sure who is breaking or raising these ponies, but they were both great. If anyone knows about this circle brand on her rear please call me, I would love to know more.
This is my ten year old daughter on her to help you with size, she is approx. 75lbs.
The previous owners wanted to make sure she got a good home so make sure if you call that you have the means and a good home for her or you can't buy her. Shelter, feed and a kid that will ride her.
There is a Craigs List ad on her with a lot more pictures, go to Tulsa listings, Farm and garden section and search "kids Pony" or the "Coweta" area.
