Broodmare Prospect. Dutch/TB mare 17.3hh, 7 years old, sired by Iron Spring's Rolls Royce out of a TB broodmare. We have decided to offer up this mare as a broodmare prospect due to the fact that this mare has navicular. This is not navicular caused by conformational deficiencies, it was completely nutrition/bad horsekeeping based. Long story short, the previous owner watched this horse for his daughter, and being a little intimidated by her due to her size, overfed her and did very little in the way of hoofcare, landing her with an episode of founder, leading to navicular. She has had the de-nerving surgery done and according to the vets she has 10+ years of riding in her before she would have to be retired to the pasture. NO JUMPING. Flat work/dressage would be alright for this mare. She was sent to the trainers under the previous owner at age 3 and sent back 2 weeks early due to doing so well. We backed her again this winter and she is very nervous undersaddle and would require a patient owner to bring her back into riding condition. We have no interest in breeding and she does not fit into our program. She would make an excellent broodmare, has a shoulder and neck to die for and great tempermant. She is not currently registered; however, we are working on getting her certificate of breeding from Iron Springs.
