Registered 15 yr Old Haflinger Mare

"Goldie" is a stocky built Halinger mare that is very maternal and loves the colts, fillies, and miniatures. She has adopted our 30 yr old mini gelding as her colt and he loves it. She rides but requires a stronger rider than my daughter to work on getting her head around. I ride her but it takes me the better part of an hour to get her to flex. She drives but hasn't in the two years we've owned her. Her previous owners said that they had driven her. She is a sweet mare but she needs more groundwork. She is a bit head strong but is very food driven. She seems to have been used as a broodmare by her prior owners and I'd say that her looks are her best feature. We picked her up at a sale and she was ridden in. She sways in the hind quarters but she doesn't show any weakness at all. The vet seemed to think she may have developed some sort of nerve damage during a foaling. She is plenty strong and I have ridden her a time or two in the pasture and on a trail ride. She runs with ease in the pasture with the other horses but I have never asked her to run in the saddle. I'd like to see her go to someone who'd let her have some colts because she is very maternal and loves to adopt the babies. I don't do any breeding. My daughter is seven and is able to lead her around and rides her in leadline but she isn't strong enough to turn her head We are simply selling her because we have too many horse for our acreage and we'd like to find a more suitable horse for our daughter. I believe she'd do good driving in a team. Her flexion improves with work. I am asking $400 OBO. She has never done anything mean. She just is sort of like a tank.
