Additional Comments:
I started training Zip for reining the summer of '07. I still continue to keep him doing some of the aspects of reining, but I am not actually "training" him at this time for it. He is very smart & athletic! Even though I have started him in reining, I think he could easily switch to pleasure which is what he is bred for. I just dont have the skills to train him for it. He is fully trained on leg cues and all the basics are there he just isn't finished in a speciality yet and ready to go in any direction. With the right training I think he could go in many different directions. I have also worked him around cattle a little bit, and he seems to have some interest in them. He just needs someone to take him farther in his training. Anyone should be able to get along with him in an arena, but he needs someone with experience to be ridden outside of an arena. He would need some seasoning to get used to all the noise and excitement that goes on at shows. However, once he is used to that I think that he should easily be able to go out and start winning some classes!! He has been hauled quite a bit, but not to too many places where there is a lot of activity going on. I have been recently hauling him to some roping practices to get him exposed to more things. He does a real good job of tracking the cattle. It does not bother him to swing or throw the rope off of him. ***I have recently had some lessons on how to train him for pleasure...He is doing quite well slowing everything down!!!

Now for the bad...One thing that he does that is not desirable when riding outdoors with other horses, is that he is buddy-sour. He is ok if he stays with the herd, or if he rides away from the group. He just doesn't like the other horses to leave him. I think that the fact of him being a stallion up until this fall is why he is that way. You put him in an arena and he is a dream to ride! Its hard to fully describe how he is, so if you are interested in him, come out to see him for yourself! Stands approx. 14 H. HYPP: N/N (Asking $2000)

UPDATE: Zip was gelded on 9/1/08.

I now have videos showing Zip being ridden both directions as well as flexing, & spinning. There are a few spots where it looks like he is acting up, however, the ground that I was riding on was slippery under the surface. There is one spot especially when he throws his head way up. He was only trying to keep his balance. It is a little hard to tell by watching the video. I havent ridden Zip very much since the beginning of the summer of '08. I rode him off and on since then, but I didnt do much with him. That is why he is a little sticky on his neck reining in places, and why he doesnt just lope right off. I have also gotten him to do a 4-ft sliding stop when he had sliders on and was on good ground. When I was riding him a lot he was always very soft & responsive. You should see him now that I have been riding him quite a bit!! There is a huge difference! You will have to look long and hard to find one that is as broke as he is and especially for this price! The price will be going up once I start taking him to shows this summer.

NEW: I have also just added a video of me spinning Zip bridleless. In the near future I will also add one with me riding him around without the bridle. I ran out of battery on my camera. He rode very well the first time that I tried it with him!
