Rojo Grande is a Chestnut Peruvian Paso Single Footer cross gelding. He stands 15.1 and has a smooth gait. His Sire is an endurance racing single footing horse and his Dam is a Peruvian Paso mare (papers are available). He is registered in the Peruvian Half-blood registry. He is 15 years old and I purchased him from the breeder when he was 5. Although I have put inexperienced riders on him it has only been in a controlled environment and he needs an experienced owner as he can be quiet spooky at times and quiet hot when he hasn't been ridden. He has never been shown as he was bred and purchased as a pleasure horse, ridden mostly outdoors in ditches, fields, and roads. He has a fairly soft mouth and needs a rider who is firm without being too aggressive. He has been ridden under Peruvian, Australian, and Western tack, along with being ridden bareback with just a halter. With the right rider he can be an exceptional horse. I have taken him out on 5km rides bareback, jumped on and off him constantly while he is grazing, trailed cows, and even ridden him around the yard without any tack for a short period. He has lots of energy left and since he has more single footing attributes that peruvian paso he has a slightly different gate and doesn't have the same termino so his joints don't have the same stress.
