Additional Comments:
She's registered AQHA-appendix, as her dam's sire is thoroughbred and her dam was registered appendix. Her dam was on the track, and is running barrels even though she's in her 20's now. I believe her sire is a western pleasure horse, but I can't remember for sure. She has an ideal cross for bloodlines... the quarter horses on the top side mixed with a little thoroughbred on the bottom side to add the leg.
Rosa has been under saddle since a late 2 year old, and has been ridden every year since. I ride her in a full cheek snaffle or something similar, and she's extremely light in the mouth and has a great whoa. She was lightly patterned to barrels last summer, but due to lack of time, was never worked consistently on barrels. She went to a couple of shows last year to get used to the crowds and commotion, and she was excellent. She rides on a loose rein, has a great jog-trot, but still needs work on her lope. Her stop is basically a little weight shifting, saying whoa, and a small amount of pressure on the reins. Her stop is consistent and excellent.
Rosa would be content with trail riding, in groups or alone. She also has the athletic ability to excel at barrels, and even possibly go english with her long trotting stride. When started on games, she never showed any signs of getting 'hot', as she's level-headed and has taken everything in stride. This spring I am going to see how she will go under english tack.
A good home is more important to me than the price I get for her, so don't be afraid to make offers.
