Meet Shadowfax! She is a super flashy 15.1 hands APHA registered 8 year old tobiano paint mare. You WILL get noticed in the arnea with her. Incredibly smart quick learner with a really great disposition. She is schooling 2'6 consistently and loves it. Shes an incredibly brave jumper I have yet to have her refuse anything. We've done colored poles, flower box's nothing phases her. Last summer we placed in all 5 of the jumping classes we entered (~30 entrants in each class) at reality dreams show series.... (read more)
She has absolutely beautiful gates, leg yields, extensions, pivots, frames up beautifully. While I've never shown in dressage I believe its the foundation for a great horse so we've done lots of work with control, extension, flexion, collection, etc.
I have used her primarily as an English jumper/hunter but her previous owner did western pleasure and she took reserve champion at a state level competition. She has the looks and talent to go both western and english! Here is us at a barn hosted jump club. Note its over a year old, shes an even better jumper now I just haven't had a chance to get a new video: Watch Jumpclub - Shadowfax - March 2013
Outside of jumping we participated in a quadrille team at my barn last year, for those unfamiliar with quadrille its synchronized horses. It takes great precision in movements and tolerance of being in close proximity to other horses check us out, Not so bad for only our 3rd practice right? : Watch Quadrille ~ Western Dressage Style
I have taught shadow to do bridleless showman ship. Everyone at the barn who sees it always comments on how amazing it is. She stays by my right shoulder as I walk or jog around the arena. She'll halt when I halt, turn when I turn.
Last summer we participated in a cowboy challenge at my barn with 20 participants and we won first place. Challenges included opening/closing gates, carrying a bucket, carrying a flag, walking over a wooden pallet, jumping some logs.
If you cant tell from my description I absolutely love this horse, and its killing me to have to sell her. But I bought her at a time in my life when had a lot of free time. Since then I've gotten a new job and new boyfriend and have been struggling for the past several months just to get to the barn once a week and its just not fair to waste such an amazing horse. But a great home is a must.
She trailers great, stands still for the farrier (wears front shoes), up to date on all her shots, teeth were floated a month ago.
Shadow lives at a stable 30 minutes south of Columbus.
Come see this girl, you'll fall in love shes so cute and wanting to please. She has the skills and looks to take you to the podium.
