Additional Comments:
Southbound is a 15.3 hand 2009 7/8 Thoroughbred, 1/8 Hanoverian bay gelding. Southbound works solid dressage and has his leg-yields. He just won Penny Oaks HT 2014 at the BN level! He scored a 30.5 in his dressage and had a double clean x-c and had one rail in the show jumping but was so far ahead with his dressage score it kept him in an easy 1st! He placed 2nd at Spring Bay HT 2014 and scored a 31.5 (putting him in 2nd after dressage) and he finished in 2nd on his dressage score! He has an uphill frame and is very simple to put together with super easy dressage. He is currently schooling up to 3ft. and has his lead changes, which are natural and easy for him. Southbound has also shown at local schooling hunter shows and always ribbons. He does not look at new fences and is mannerly and easy to show. He is a horse that takes the leg and is suitable for amateurs and children. He is always safe to ride, on and off the farm, indoors and out. He is brave on the cross country and just goes out in a plain dee, he is not a strong horse at all. He jumps anything you point him at including ditches, he goes right in the water too, he really loves the water! Southbound goes right over flowers, boxes, gates and planks. He is a bold horse with an adorable in-your-pocket attitude. He is a happy guy! Nice gaits, smooth and collected canter, soft mouth (rubber bit). He trailers, ties, bathes and stands for grooming. Good in the pasture, easy to catch, never a cross or baby moment. Not spooky, never bucks, rears or bolts. Southbound is a lovely young horse with a happy and willing attitude. He will continue eventing until sold, price will go up after each event. Sound, healthy, easy to have around.
