Green mare needs miles and finishing with an experienced rider -a good, manageable winter project. Direct reins. Never been lame. UTD on shots, wormer, coggins and farrier. Currently barefoot. Many more photos available on request.
This mare is lots of FUN. She is fast, sensitive and in need of finishing, so needs a confident, advanced rider. She would be a great gaming horse, a cute hunter, or a zippy trail mount. I think she would also do well in a sporthorse breeding program (she is well-built, athletic and her tovero genetics make it more than 50% likely that she will pass spotting onto any offspring. She is very intelligent and a fast learner, but she also likes to test her rider from time to time. If you are a kid, beginner or timid rider, she's not the right horse for you.
I am her 3rd owner. Before me she lived on a ranch where she was used as a trail horse to give rides to tourists in the green mountains of Vermont. Barn workers there would ride her and her sister down the mountain into town to get their morning coffee.
With me she's had work on her ground manners, desensitizing, basic under saddle work in english and western tack. But, I have had several life events, (surgery, moving 3 times, etc) in the past 18 months that have kept me from giving her the consistency and time she deserves. Now, we are planning to add a baby to our family, and I need to face the fact that I will not have time for her in the foreseeable future. She needs a home where she will be worked regularly and have a consistent daily routine. She is not a horse who can sit for months and then be ridden like no time has passed. She was last ridden in late September.
I love this horse and will really miss her. She is a good-natured sweetheart, dead sane in familiar territory or if she is with a group of other horses, but does run a little on the hot side. She does not like to ride out alone on the trail. In a herd she typically sits somewhere in the middle of the pecking order.
Serious inquiries only, please. Willing to be flexible on price if you have 3 excellent referenes (1 from your vet, 1 from your trainer, 1 from your farrier). I am in no big hurry to sell
Buyer is responsible for arranging her transport to her new home.
