Remi is a 12 year-old white Quarter Horse gelding. He stands about 15 hands, and he's been trail ridden extensively. We have used him for our summer camp program for ages 8 and up. Because we allow the public to ride our horses and there are liability issues to consider, we always err toward the safe, conservative side. Younger children could probably ride him, but we can attest to the fact that children as young as 8 have ridden him frequently at our farm. He's easy to ride and just goes along on the trail without a lot of direction. Even though he's child-safe, he isn't lazy, and he keeps up. He is easy to get into a trot or canter with just a touch of your heel - no kicking required.
If you're looking for a horse with good ground manners, and a sweet disposition, Remi won't disappoint you. He's always easy to catch, and he gets along with the other horses in his pasture. He's not the dominant type. He doesn't buck, bite, bolt, or spook at deer, 4-wheelers, or squealing kids. He's a pleasure to ride whether you have significant riding experience or you're an absolute beginner. Many child-safe horses are boring to ride if you have riding experience, but Remi isn't one of them. He will ride alone or anywhere in a long line of horses.
Remi was once a gray and white Paint, but like all grays, he has turned white. He's easy to load, and he stands for the farrier. Remi is current of shots, dewormer, Coggins, and teeth flotation. He is sound with no vices.
