Opie is a 2 yo BLM mustang gelding. He is 15.1 hands and is definitely still growing! He is approximately a January baby and will turn three in a few months.
Opie is a sorrel who was born at Ridgecrest Corrals. His mom was from the Twin Peaks HMA. We picked Opie up from the Ridgecrest Holding Facility on October 25, 2013. Opie is available on a first come first serve basis. His adopter must be approved by BLM. Opie is not broke to ride although with training she should make a very nice riding horse. He is very easy going, laid back horse and is going to be big enough to carry a man and should be gentle enough for anybody to ride if he is started right!
Adopters must have no history of animal abuse and submit an application to the BLM. Opie is a gentled mustang and can be stabled in any standard horse corral that is 5' high or taller.
Visit http://www.familyhorses.net to view Opie's videos including him going over the teeter bridge, crossing logs and trotting in hand only 3 days after he was picked up having never been handled before!
Local hauling available.
