The picture in this ad is of Georgie when he was 2 yrs old!!! It was only the second time away from home and in new surroundings where he encountered a semi truck that was running and other scary things.
Georgie is a 3 yr old purebred unregistered Belgian gelding. Has a white mane and tail,stripe, 2 rear white socks and a dark sorrel coat. Should mature @ 17.1hh. Is not heavy built; is more of the modern style- med. boned with excellent skelital balance. Not heavy on the forehand.
Extremely gentle in nature and has a very calm, kind, quiet and patient disposition. Does NOT kick, crib or bite in the stall or in general handling. Is not easily spooked. If something spooks him, he'll take a few quick steps away from it, then turn around and investigate the spooky thing. Clips, bathes, ties and loads very well. Picks up feet when asked. Has NEVER had a twitch used on him for anything.
Has a very solid base of foundation training and has NOT been rushed or manhandled. IS EXTREMELY, and I mean EXTREMELY, SENSIBLE AND LEVEL HEADED in every thing he is asked to do, even when its the first time being asked to do a task !!! We are talking about a draft horse, that by their very nature mature mentally at a very young age as opposed to a riding (light horse) horse; in that by their (light horse) very nature are more spastic and far less mature in their younger years. Georgie craves for human affection and of course..... treats. He has a very WILLING TO PLEASE ATTITUDE!! Has been ridden on trails and in an indoor arena with no problems. Started under harness. Training will continue until he is sold. Currently being trained for mounted police work.UTD on shots and worming.
UPDATE Georgie is being schooled on the road with medium traffic and is doing excellent. So far he has encountered dump and trash trucks, speedy delivery trucks and very rude motorists in cars. All have been taken in stride by Georgie. He also is currently being schooled in basic Dressage where he has so far learned leg yields,shoulder in/out, side pass and balance in a 20 meter circle.
