Additional Comments:
Black Jack is a very nicely-tempered, calm unregistered Half-Arab. He has had extensive handling since birth, as he was raised and trained on the property where he now resides. He was dragging logs across the property and wearing a saddle in the round pen when he was just two. He has been ponied in parades. Now, he is being ridden out on trails, such as Cave Run's Fire Tower Trail and The Scott County Resovoir. He is easy to catch, groom, trim, saddle, mount, bathe, etc. He will lead or follow on a trail. As of now, he is solid in his walk, with very little spook. He crosses ditches, walks down running stream beds, crosses logs, backs on demand, whoas beautifully, etc. Currently, he is learning to neck reign, trot/canter under saddle on command and doing nicely. No meanness or hot-blooded behavior. Would make an exceptional endurance horse, as he rarely tires, but likes to work. Loves his human and appreciates attention. Loads like an old campaigner. Really a beautiful boy. Right now, he is black with gray roaning. His mother is an unregistered Arab, flea-bitten gray and his father was a bay. Most likely, he will mature to 15 H, but does have the compact build of an Arab. Brave, unafraid of water (gets that from his father), and highly trainable. Presently, he is not a youth horse, as he has only had ten offsite trail rides. He does show the aptitude to be such, but as of now, he'd be better suited to a knowledgeable intermediate or better. Might work as a games pony or 4-H'r, as he's not nervous or high-strung in the least. Used to dogs, goats, and cows. Has not had large ring training, but would learn it easily. Right now, he's a green trail mount or a cart prospect, as he long-lines/drags logs like a dream. Email for more pics and short video clip.
