Barn name - Madeline - is a VERY WELL BRED OLD TIME Walking Horse mare directly by the last direct son of Pride of Midnight HF. (Hayes Choice). She is now 11 yrs old and we raised her from her mother who was directly by Chances Gold Dust H. This is Melissa Bailey typing and I have 12 of my own horses. This means I'm not spending one on one time with this mare so I have made the difficult decision to rehome her. For Madeline's sake, I am looking to find her a home where she is the center of attention, daily. She has given us 5 fabulous colts and it's time for her to have some fun. Yes she can still raise colts (and I hate to walk away from her future offspring cause she is an excellent mama and her colts are very athletic with SMOOTH GAITS and have sold for $2500 and $3500 and out of our stallion who is not homozygous but all od Madeline's colts have been black and white, but there is more to being a horse than raising colts and she's too good of a trail horse to let stand in a pasture. She has a quiet mind, is confidant but not pushy, and she did sit for several years without being ridden and we round penned her, saddled her up and rode her out of the barn. NO DRAMA. Traffic safe, ride her alone or with a group. Don led a trail ride on her too just after she was started riding again. She's not for a novice rider as she needs to get to know her new rider. I can ride her with no drama since she KNOWS and TRUSTS me but I'm looking for someone that understands a free horse means Professional Riding might be involved or a Confidant rider will be necessary to get her to being a horse for a novice. With some effort she'd be a great husband horse and with her NON Spookiness she'd also be great for Mounted Patrol and anyone doing therapy riding could use her in a ring. She is sensible but she is a Dominant mare in the pasture. She's also very willing to please. Take note: her walking horse gait is not her best feature, so I am not advertising her as a super smooth gaiting horse, but she does canter, and she is very sure footed and goes anywhere you point her. If you shod her with a weighted shoe on the front she'd smooth out. I am looking for a a loving home with veterinarian and personal references. If you provided Madeline with a home, I would insist that she could not be sold or given away to anyone else and we'd create a binding contract that spelled this out. Please call me (540)303-0569 to learn more about Madeline and see video's of her on my youtube blackwidowfarm site. I can email you photos and video links too. THANK YOU. Melissa Bailey

We pride ourselves on providing trustworthy trail horses that are "Grandma Safe".
We have a superior selection of smooth, gentle, experienced Tennessee Walking Horses and Spotted Saddle Horses. We have about 15 horses here - that ARE proven trail horses we've brought out of Tennessee. None come from sale barns. They are family pets. My horses don't have much of a show ring background either so they are not nervous or wired up. Several have been a family pet and shown by that family, but predominantly a trail riding horse, so if you'd also like to trail ride and compete in a show ring, it will be nice to know you are buying naturaly talented gaited horse that doesn't need soring or special devices to win in a show ring.
These trail savvy gaited horses are THE ideal trail pleasure ride. Ride a horse that gives you permission to ride! We specialize in natural moving and smooth gaited trail horses with LOTS of experience on trails. Our Tennessee Walking Horses and Spotted Saddle horses double as horses we use here for our custom trail rides, birthday parties and riding lessons. Why not give them a job to do till they find their "forever home".
Besides the trot not thing, our horses are GORGEOUS - we specialize in quality gaited horses of unique color, with loving personalities. We have every color under the rainbow. You'll look great on the trail riding a well behaved Palomino, Buckskin, Blue Roan, or Tobiano (Spotted) beauty. Occasionally we carry Missouri Fox Trotters and Rocky Mountain horses for sale too.
If I don't have what you want, I can find it. We lived in Tennessee for 8 years and I find a sound sane smooth gaited horse better than most folks can.
