Aries is a big fine horse!! He has been used as a saddle horse on the trail. We do not have a wagon to pull but I was told when we bought him a year ago that he he would pull with ease.
Pros: He is very smart
very willing to learn
and a quick learner
hes gentle on the ground, has never even accidentally stepped on a foot or backed over a child.
we put our kids on him a and pony around
can be ridden bare back with a halter
lounges knows foot cues and verbal in saddle and on ground
he has a good go and stop, still plow reins (been working on that)
cons: he is a fence tester, he will lean his head over wire fence and use his size to bend or break low fences.... (read more)
when in a new place he can get hyper and tense
very dominant in the herd
Aries needs a job to do. I bought this horse to do mid-evil costuming and parades. I did not consider how hard it was going to be to get up and down off of him when on the trail. Ive been trying to teach him how to park out, but at this point (because I dont really know how) Im over it. I would like to sell him to some folks that want to put him to work and give him more purpose. I will also consider a trade for a gelding NO SHORTER that 15hh and ready to go down the trail. no green broke or fixer uppers. And I would like to stay in the below 15year range, because Im looking for my forever horse and I want a lot of good years. I am not in a hurry to sell him, this is NOT about the money, so no low balling or ridiculous offers please...Thanks
