Moses is a kind and stately gentleman. He is estimated to be 28 years old and was a show jumper in his past life. Sadly for Moses, he was dumped out in a field and neglected after retiring from the show ring.
Moses came to us in May of this year a sad and pitiful shadow of the horse he truly is. Over the past several months, he has blossomed into a happy and proud old man who loves attention and treats.
This wonderful guy is a pretty easy keeper for a horse who was starved nearly to death--he's still gaining and has another 100 or so pounds to go, but the weight is coming back nicely with relatively little grain for a horse of his size and level of starvation.... (read more)
Moses is sound for bareback riding by a light rider, and is well behaved when ridden. He loves to have a job, even if it's to stand as still as a statue while being bathed or groomed by small children. He is a total gentleman and is all class!!!
Moses is looking for a forever home, and is available for permanent placement or as a foster to the right situation. He currently is babysitting our retired racehorses as they transition to life off the track, and gets along well with everyone. He eats 3 scoops of feed daily along with 12 pounds of Chaffhaye and a GI supplement.
His teeth were checked when he came in to the farm, and are in pretty good shape for a guy his age. He is current on his vaccines and Coggins, and would be a wonderful addition to any family or program interested in having a kind, easily handled horse to love and enjoy. He would be ideally suited to a program for handicapped/learning disabled children, emotional or physical rehabilitation, or one focusing on the needs of veterans post combat.
Moses, with his kind and gentle spirit has much left to give and would only ever ask for love and care in return.
