Max is a handsome Belgian gelding who loves people. He has a puppy-dog personality and will follow you around the field. He rides well and I’m told he drives though I have not tried this myself. He is a super easy-keeper. He has nice hard feet and has always been barefoot, and keeps a slightly plump physique very easily. He has a low-grade heart murmur but I’m told by my vet that it should not limit him except for very heavy, hard work. He is otherwise 100% sound and strong with a clean bill of health. He is up to date on EVERYTHING. He has a farrier visit every 6 weeks, is always up to date on all shots and has a current coggins, regular wormer, and dentist less than 6 months ago. He gets along great with other horses. He is lower in the pecking order in our 2-horse herd, but with a larger herd I’d guess he’ll come in somewhere in the middle. He has very good ground manners. He is slightly lazy but will trot and canter with encouragement and is a nice trail horse. I have taken him through small openings in trees and shallow water with no problem. He loads, trailers, ties, and bathes well. Picture is from this past summer, so he’s fuzzier now. For an advanced beginner on up I think Max would make a great mount for the trails or for driving.
