2008 registered appendix quarter horse mare.
WFR Fintry Doc Kat x Bar K Bright Scotch
Can be found on all breed pedigree
Solid sorrel, no markings. Baby doll head, stout build, flashy movement, very eye catching. She is an in your pocket type mare. Comes when called, loves attention.
I owned her since she was a weanling and have been her sole trainer.
She was successfully shown as a yearling in lunge line, halter and showmanship. Was shown as a two year old in Western Pleasure. I got out of showing and have kept her as a trail horse/arena horse. Despite not showing, she is consistently worked on so that if I do want to show, little prep is needed.
Has a beautiful walk/jog/lope. Easy to sit to. Can extend and collect her gaits. Knows her leads. Very flashy mover. Smooth transitions, nice back up (can go straight or be backed through obstacles), side passes both ways, pivots and two tracks. Can move her hip and shoulders over, bend and counter bend in circles.
She is great on the trails and in the arena. Have mostly ridden her western but she could easily do flat English with very little work. She would be a nice little dressage horse - light on her feet, eye catching movement and personality.
She was put over fences a little bit and seemed to enjoy it but I am not an English rider so couldn't really go into her potential as a jumper at this time. I have been told that she would make a cute little hunter by several English riders/trainers. She just needs someone to take her down that road.
She would be suitable for a confident rider. She gets a bit spooky - nothing unmanageable, just plants herself and doesn't want to take on the scary stuff. Needs a confident rider to build up her confidence and push her through it.
She has no buck, no rear, no bolt, no bite.
Also has been ponied and been ponied off of.
She really needs to be a one person horse. She's super sweet and as much as I don't want to sell her, I just don't have the time she deserves. I am open to offers on this lovely girl. A good forever home is the important thing...
