Jaimie is a 4 year old, bay filly who stands between 15.2 and 15.3 hands. After 11 starts and no wins, Jaimie retired in August of 2012. She retired sound and was put out to pasture on another farm for several months before coming to us here in Nottingham, PA. Since arriving here in March she's quickly settled into her new routine here at After the Races.
Jaimie retired with clean legs and is sound and ready to move on into any discipline. She has been ridden both English and Western, mostly walk/trot though we have begun introducing the canter. We have also been working with her over ground poles and she is very good with her feet. Jaimie has also been lunged in loose side reins which she accepts willingly and works in beautifully. We also free jumped Jaimie over a few small obstacles and think she will make someone a nice jumper!
Jaimie stands cross tied for grooming, tacking, the farrier and vet, you name it. She also stands tied for bathing, loads and travels well, and is up to date on all vaccines and coggins. Aside from being slightly girthy sometimes, she has no vices and would do well with any experienced person interested in putting a few miles on her before hitting the trail or the show ground.
Company / Facility:
After the Races -
A rehabbing and rehoming facility for retired Thoroughbred race horses, here at After the Races we have several nice OTTBs in need of great homes. Adoption fees are low and these horses are capable of going on to any discipline. Right now we have horses who would make fantastic trail or lesson mounts as well as those who could go on to high level showing. Many great projects. Please consider adopting today!
