Conclusion Whim "Earl" is a rock solid registered quarter horse experienced in barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, and breakaway roping. He was used in a schooling program for 5 years before we purchased him and was solid and reliable for riders across experience levels for lessons, gymkhanas, trail and mountain rides. He is a 19 year old sorrel gelding with consistent top 10 placings in junior high school rodeo. He continues to condition a minimum of 3 times/wk, competes regularly and in March 2014 had the second highest time in youth AND open 1D in a spring jackpot series in Calgary, AB, Canada. His grandfather was the high point halter stallion of the world, AQHA leading sire and Canadian National Champion. He is in top shape, with excellent feet and no lameness issues. He has never had injections and has no issues maintaining weight or condition. He is not showing any signs of aging and all records of his maintenance and vet care can be provided. My daughter (16) continues to ride him in jackpots, goat tying clinics and as her back-up pole and roping horse. He has also had several weeks of training in the box by adult ropers competing in breakaway and team roping at the adult level.
Earl has proven himself as solid and reliable in a kids "learn to ride" program right up to competitive rodeo. If you are looking for an all-round trustworthy horse for competitive rodeo for any level of rider - he is it. He would be perfect for a "new starter" to junior high school rodeo.
