This beautiful gal has been tuned up and is looking for her forever home! Miss San Pin is a '00 sorrel mare with pedigree for days-Peppy San, Hollywood Red, Music Mount and more! Completely safe and sane for ANYONE to ride - grab a beer, hop on, and down the trail you go - she'll take care of you!
The Good - 100% safe and sane, well mannered and the best kids horse I have ever met (my 4 yr old can ride her alone), would make an amazing grandkid babysitter, broodmare, pasture buddy, therapy animal or bombproof-go through anything-pack anywhere trail horse.... (read more) Took her on a refresher trail ride yesterday with a brand new rider on her, with myself on a first time trail horse, and she was perfect - a great example for the youngster and took amazing care of her rider. Walked, trotted, and loped (on command), walked into the lake up to her chest with little hesitation, demonstrated how to walk to through puddles like a lady. Passive around alpha horses, but happy to lead the pack as well. Gets right in the trailer and hauls quietly solo or with a buddy (I've even had her packed into a 2 horse trailer with 3 horses before). Neck reins, moves off pressure, sidepasses, backs up, BIG whoa (hang on!!!). Picks up her feet, stands to be brushed, loves kids, and knows how to do gates mounted. Walks on roads by cars, has participated on a drill team, has had guns shot by her, cars race past, lightly patterned on a short barrel pattern. No crib, wind suck, bite, kick, or buck. Respecful of boundaries and doesn't need high or hot fencing. I ride her in a rope nose hackamore but she will also go well in a snaffle.
The Bad - Sometime in the next 6-12 months she will need her teeth done, or at least checked. She is holding weight and eating just fine, and you can't see any hooks when she opens her mouth but because of her age it is probably time to look at them. She also doesn't love baths or being sprayed in the face (fly spray, show sheen, etc.). She also doesn't like trimmers in her ears, so I usually use scissors instead.
For trail riding she has always been 100% sound and eager, and quiet. Will SWIM!!!
