After much deliberation, I finally decided to put Nova, my Friesian sport horse, up for sale. She is without a doubt the perfect combination of beauty, confidence, ease and willingness.
Nova is a young, extremely flashy, Friesian Percheron cross who stands a solid 16.1hh. She has a gorgeous, stout confirmation, which with time is only going to fill out and get even nicer. She's got the comfort, height, and reliability of the Percheron and the presence, agility, and elegance of a Friesian. This mare has a disposition to die for. She is extremely easy going and is always up to try new things. She's very easy to catch in the pasture and no problem to be groomed, tacked up, or bridled. She picks up all four feet with ease, and stands statue still to be mounted (or literally jumped on). She is an awesome horse to handle on the ground as well as enjoy in the saddle. This mare is broke to drive and extremely broke to ride. Although she is young, I would trust anyone on this horse's back. Nova is the definition of kind and I believe she could give any rider their confidence back. She is very forgiving and super easy to ride. She has a gorgeous headset, a very balanced trot, a super smooth canter, and excellent transitions both up and down.. Nova is responsive to leg and seat pressure and picks up both leads with ease. She has been ridden english, western, and bareback. She leads, stands, ties, crossties, bathes, pickets, clips, and loads like a champ. As crazy as this is sounds, I have yet to find a fault. She would be a tremendous dressage prospect or make any husband a reliable mount.
She has been ridden extensively on the trails and is 100% traffic and deer safe. This mare is not in any way shape or form spooky. She'll go over or through anything you point her at, bridges and water are nothing to her. Nova is extremely level headed and has absolutely no problem going out alone for an afternoon ride or a midnight stroll with just a halter and lead. With other horses you can put her in front, middle or behind and it won't make any difference to her. She is not herd bound, barn sour, or buddy sour. She is truly a no-fuss, no-nonsense kinda girl. There's no need to lounge her before you ride, because 'hot' is not in her vocabulary, in fact you don't even have to saddle her up if you don't want to, as she is used to me pulling her out of the pasture and ridding her around bareback.
Nova has a solid jumping foundation, and there's no doubt that she would do amazing as a hunter/jumper or cross country eventer. This mare is fearless. Although she is not a finished and polished blue ribbon champion, it's obvious that it wouldn't take much time to get her there. She is very brave, whether it's a fallen tree on the trails or a scary solid jump, she has never tried to duck out and ditch the jump. She is scopey and does fine riding in an arena full of foreign horses. Nova is as honest as they come and strives to please her rider.
Nova would make a great police mount given her size and extremely quiet disposition. There's very little that even seems to bother her. She would also make an exceptional fox hunting mount, as she loves venturing out on the trails and is used to riding with a group of dogs. She's an agile horse who doesn't spook and has no problem jumping a fallen tree here and there. I can't express how much potential this quiet mare has and I am confident that with her easy going attitude and willing disposition she will excel in any discipline. Whether you're looking for your next show stopper, a horse your whole family can enjoy, or just an exceptionally calm, all around horse you can take out all year long, here she is. (734) 536 7737
